“Suspend Standing Orders”
P.C. Bassham reported
that there had been 38 calls during October, 2 Crimes only. Another accident on
the A.47 and abandoned vehicles taking up police time. Travellers had been a
problem from Reepham and
diesel had been
removed from Rackheath Industrial Estate. The “Mud on road” situation had been
addressed, with the Environmental Agency being asked to clean up the areas.
Warning again regarding walk in /opportunists burglaries. Cllrs informed
P.C.Bassham of Exhibition/ meeting on November 17th at Gt. Plumstead
Village Hall. Further details were reported and taken on board by P.C.Bassham
also concern over accidents/ near misses at Brick Kilns.

C. Mowle reported back regarding the Consultation meeting held at Great
Plumstead Village Hall on the 20th September at

The minutes of the
Parish Council meeting held on
Churchyard Maintenance (Minute 2693)
Grass cutting – contract renewal.
To be dealt with at next meeting.
Cllr S. Rose reported that a request had been
put through for Mr. Darby to carry out a further cut and clear away, as growth
of vegetation was again high. The cutting has been done but not cleared away
yet.
Quotation received from Michael L.Blackburn for
felling, trimming and clearing of dead trees in the Churchyard price £140.00. Council agreed unanimously to
accept this.
It was also agreed to forward a cheque for
£100.00 as a token of our appreciation to Mr. J. Brown for his grass clearing
of paths etc work carried at the Church. Unanimous decision.
Discussion followed regarding close mowing or
cutting of grass and returning the Churchyard to pristine condition. Will be
further addressed when grass cutting contract is discussed fully.

thanking us for the information which had been followed up.
Car
Parking at King’s Head.
Chairman reported that a meeting took place
between him, Mrs. Rose and Mr. Hamish Melville as there was a possibility that
funding by Broadland District Council will be withdrawn. Lease has another two
years to run. Information only.
Parking in the Street (Minute 2691)
A telephone call was
received suggesting a meeting between Mr. Reilly (Highways Engineer) and
members of the Parish Council to discuss arrangements (if any) that could be
made to improve our situation. Councillors agreed that Mr. Tetlow, Mrs. Butler
and Mr & Mrs Sowerby would attend this meeting, time and place of which
would be arranged by Mr. Tetlow.

Councillors discussed
ways of informing residents in need of housing, of the importance of their name
being on the Housing Register held by Broadland District Council. The
announcement of impending building in the Blofield area will be made in the
next Broadland News and this should be delivered to all residents. Clerk to contact Broadland and monitor the progress
of this publication.
