HEATHLANDS
– REPRESENTATIVES REPORT.-Summary.
Report
Given by Mr. G. Buffini.
Being
brought into the ‘problem’ via the Parish Council, I only heard one side of
the story “banging on the Social Club door without response”. I think now
that the banging may have been too hard, too often and caused the Social Club to
‘cock a deafun’.
This
has caused a petty dispute. There are enough people in the village to support
the hall by attending its activities, when the organisation is better.
I
think that the Social Club should protect its identity, in fact promote it, but
without isolation. A good deal of laissez faire is called for. It does not need
treaties or agreements, just an objective to put houses in order and target a
successful village hall.
When
requests for grants are scrutinised, best both ‘teams’ are seen to be
working together.
Councillor
was interrupted by parishioner against procedure. No further discussion
reported.
Chairman
agreed with this report and again was interrupted. Closure.
Mrs Dawson
stated that she felt thanks were due to Sue for all her hard work. Council
agreed.
