BLOFIELD PARISH COUNCIL

 

 

Minutes of the Blofield Parish Council meeting held on Tuesday 9th October 2007 in The Courthouse at 7.30 pm.

 

3076    COUNCILLORS PRESENT  Mr. D. C. Ward, Chairman, Mr. M. Tetlow, Vice Chairman, Mrs. G. Butler, Mrs. B. Dawson, Mrs. L. Copping, Dr. D. Pilch,(8.00pm.) Mr. J.Marney, and Mrs. P. Wilson. Mr. B. Murphy.

 

Also present were five members of the public and the clerk Mrs. D.R.Wyatt.

 

3077    APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

3078    DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Mrs. Dawson and Mrs. Butler as previously, declared interests in Heathlands.

            Mrs. P. Wilson, declared personal interest in Item 8 as associate and Item 11 as part of             Management team.

 

3079    OPEN FORUM

CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS GROUP.

Three representatives Mrs. Berry, Mrs Toothill and Dr. Latham outlined their ideas regarding reduction of ‘carbon footprint’and asked for the support of the Parish Council . This was given and further reports awaited. Parishioners left meeting.

3080    MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

Minutes of the Parish Council meeting 4th September were agreed,  to be a true record and duly signed by the Chairman. Proposed Mrs. Butler and Seconded by Mr. M.Tetlow.

Planning Minutes of the 4th and 25th September were agreed,  Proposed  Mrs G.Butler and seconded Mr.M.Tetlow.

           

3081    CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

            Chairman reported that he thought it would be a good idea if we invited Brian Walsh the                        Fire Risk Manager along to our next meeting. All agreed and Clerk was requested to        forward an invitation.

 

3082    LITTER BINS / DOG FOULING

            It was agreed to monitor the litter situation at Blofield Post Office in The Street for the    next 3 months and discuss again.

 

3083    BLOFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL. – W.P. report from meeting of  24th September.

            Included concerns about children being hit by passing vehicles and a meeting has been   arranged with the Highways Department in approximately three weeks.

 

3084    TREE WORKS

            The quotations received were discussed and Michael Blackburn’s quotation of £675.00             

            was agreed to be best value. Michael Blackburn to be notified and the Diocesan            Certificate and Faculty applied for.

 

3085    HIGHWAY MATTERS

            Nothing further to report.

 

3086    PLANNING

Nothing to report at present.

 

3087    EXPENDITURE

            Cheque – Clerks Expenses value 127.26 proposed for payment by Mrs. Butler and      seconded by Mr. Marney.

            Confirmation of Annual Audit moved to further meeting to be arranged.

 

3088    BLOFIELD COURTHOUSE – ROOF REPAIRS

            Verbal reply received from Solicitor Nicholas Hancox , who quoted £50 plus VAT.

            It was proposed by Mrs. Butler and seconded by Mrs. Copping to accept this figure     and proceed with obtaining completion of Grant form required by Broadland District           Council. All agreed.

 

3089    CORRESPONDENCE.

            Information only

            Reve Foundation – Announcement supplied placed on Notice boards.

 

            H. Smith & Son Honingham acknowledge receipt of name for Globe Lane Site

     

            Brundall Parish Council has advised  that no further Annual retainer fees will be                      required from 1st January 2007.       Clerk to write thanking them

.

           Family First Aid – posters were placed on notice boards as requested.

 

            N.R.C.C. Invitation for Wednesday 17th October 7-9pm at Dereham Offices – Impact on        Climate Change.   Noted

 

            Energy saving trust Selection of Village or Ward motivated enough to take action     Noted.

 

            Received for comment

            Norfolk Wildlife Trust – Permission required to forward us communications for inclusions if possible in our Village newsletters etc. Permission given to go via Clerk.

 

            N.H.S.Request to pass booklet received to interested person.-Passed to Mrs. J. Perry

            DEFRA – Ways to tackle Climate Change. Climate Change awareness group in receipt       of copy.

 

3090.  COUNCILLORS INPUT.

            Post Office closures in general was discussed.

            Pleasure expressed at the effort made by both our village post offices to improve their    premises and it was reiterated that the Post Office at Blofield Heath will remain open            during alterations.

            Interest shown by the Exclusive Brethren in the old building on Cuttons Corner.

            Manor Farm Barns was discussed re windows, bats and thatching.

            Mrs B.Dawson asked for any names of needy people in the village to pass on to The     Shelroy Trust.

           

3091    Date of next meeting was confirmed as 20th November in Heathlands at 7.30pm

 

            Chairman thanked all for coming and closed the meeting at 9..45pm.
