!!! I just discovered
it today. You see, I am a direct descendant of Charles LAYTON - The Reedham
Game Chicken!! He was my 4th great-grandfather.
My entire family still lives in England (with the exception of myself)
although our particular branch left Norfolk in the mid 1800's (Charles' son
Henry left for London - Bethnal Green - between 1851 and 1853). I came to
the U.S. in the mid-1970's. I am planning a visit with my family to Norfolk
during a visit home next summer.
I have a number of items of family interest, including
Charles` father's original will and a copy of his mother's will.

Hello there

Congratulations on the fine web site which brought back many happy memories of when I lived in Blofield around 40 years ago. This was in Willow Tree Cottage, North Street, opposite the school where Mr Bacon was headmaster. I have enclosed some colour pics; one shows the cottage, while the others show me with my late parents, who subsequently moved to Manor Ridge. Mum (Marjorie) was clerk to the parish council and secretary to the Garden Club, which was founded after she organised a horticultural event at the school in aid of the British Diabetic Association - I was chairman/treasurer of the Norwich branch at the time.

I've also attached a b/w photo of an advert for another event at the school. Dad (Fred) was on the parish council and the Garden Club committee.
