6. PLANNING APPLICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION.
Application 20090827 – Golf Club,Yarmouth Road, Blofield.
All members present were for this application.
Comments:
Good opening for the golf club but can we add that we would like to see the grubbed out hawthorn hedge re-planted along the Yarmouth Road from the new entrance gates to Witton Run. This would enhance the appearance of the golf club and the rural approach to the village.
Application 20090431 – Plow Cottage, Ranworth Road.
All members present were against this application.
Comments:
We have our initial objections to the original outline application ref 20070689.
In addition we object to the huge increase in size of this development. The original (20070689)
development was for a modest bungalow with an approximate floor area of 198sqm an increase of 92.2%.
The application contravenes Local Plan Policies.
The increase in ridge height from 6.2m to 8.6m and increase of 38%.
This proposal will be intrusive to the surrounding properties.
20090643 –3,Yarmouth Road, Blofield. Alterations including External Staircase
All members present were against this application.
Several concerns received regarding this application.
Close proximity of the new kitchen window to the existing bungalow has already affected privacy, as a council we feel that obscure glass would be more appropriate in this setting.
The external staircase we feel to be an unnecessary addition to the building, a simple partition wall and door within the showroom area would keep the workshop staff away from view of the showroom. Use of the existing internal staircase would benefit the workshop staff during inclement weather.
We are informed by local residents that the drainage is in fact not mains. There are ongoing difficulties with the drainage for the depot the bungalow (listed as number 1) and the garage. We believe this is related to the fact that the drainage is shared between these properties as historically they were one site. Any increase could create more problems.
Parish Council requested that Broadland District Council Planning Officers re-visit the site as the information we have is that a change of use has taken place- that the ‘rest area’ is in fact now used as a dwelling.
